INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (IIT), ROPAR

Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar is one of the eight new IITs set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, to expand the reach and enhance the quality of technical education in the country. This institute is committed to providing state-of-the-art technical education in a variety of fields and also for facilitating transmission of knowledge in keeping with latest developments in pedagogy. These two areas of focus will enable students to gain exposure to recent trends in their chosen domains of study and gain practical experience through a wide variety of activities the institute facilitates in its own campus and arranges for in collaboration with industry and other institutes.

IIT Ropar is consistently ranked by various national and international ranking agencies, in 2020, it was ranked 25 for Engineering and 29 in overall NIRF Ranking. IIT Ropar offers BTech at UG level, MTech and MSc at PG level along PhD course across various departments of study.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

BTech

Sr. Secondary (10+2) 70% marks (Aggregate) & minimum 60% marks in PCM, Computer Science/PCB for Biotechnology without gap between 10th and 12th and Minimum 50% marks in Maths.
The minimum academic qualification for appearing in JEE is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 system or its equivalent. For the detailed procedure in this regard, visit JEE- Advanced website before the end of December preceding the year in which admission is sought.

MTech

A minimum of 60% marks (without round off) in aggregate over the entire duration of the undergraduate program (BTech in relevant stream)
A valid GATE score in relevant stream

MSc

A minimum of 60% marks (without round off) in aggregate over the entire duration of the undergraduate program
Admission to all the M.Sc programs are through JAM.

PhD

A candidate must have cleared post-graduate (PG) degree or equivalent of minimum duration of 2 years from a UGC recognized Indian / foreign university in respective discipline with score of minimum 60% or equivalent CGPA.
