Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women's University formerly known as Karnataka State Women's University, established in 2003 in the city of Vijayapura (Formerly Bijapur), is the only Women's University in Karnataka dedicated exclusively for women's education. It is recognized under 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act. It has been accredited 'B'grade by NAAC. The university is also a recipient of four Stars in KSURF rankings. One hundred and thirty seven women's colleges of Karnataka, are affiliated to this University and one P G center at Sindhanoor and also at Udutadi, one Extension center at Mandya are also offering various programmes.
The University offers various UG programmes leading to Bachelor's degree in Arts, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Commerce, Education, Fashion Technology, Home Science, Physical Education, Science and Social Work. It also offers 32 P G Courses, P G Diploma and Certificate Courses in the Faculties of Arts, Commerce and Management, Social Sciences, Science and Technology and Education.
Master of Education (M.Ed)
Minimum Qualification Required: Degree in B.Ed/ B.El.Ed. is a must.
Minimum Marks Aggregate: 50% to 60%, varies from college to college
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
Candidates with both graduation and postgraduation degree in a relevant field of study are eligible for the B.Ed programme offered by various reputed institutions/universities. However, the graduates must have scored 50% to 55% in their qualifying degree exam and the postgraduates have to secure at least 55% in their respective qualifying degree exam to be eligible to apply for various B.Ed entrance tests.
M.P.Ed
Successful completed BPE / B.P.Ed. / B.Sc. Physical Education / Other relevant degree from a recognized board with minimum 50% aggregate marks
B.P.Ed
Candidates who have passed graduation degree in any stream are eligible for admission in B.P.Ed course. The duration of the programme is 2 years. Check B.P.Ed admission dates 2021, list of entrance exams and admission process details.
MPhil
Candidates can pursue an MPhil course if they have completed their master’s degree in a related field in which they want to pursue an MPhil course
Ph.D
Post Graduate Degree with 60 % marks from recognized University.
