KMC

Manipal, popularly known as international university town of today, made its beginning with the establishment of medical college in private sector, viz., Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, that was established in the year 1953. It was the first self-financing medical college in the private sector in India, established in a barren hillock which has turned itself to be a green environmental city, with all modern amenities conducive to student learning. Today, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, is a name synonymous with quality medical education which attracts people not only from India but also from other countries of the world. The college has consistently been ranked among the top ten medical colleges in the country. Students from over 30 countries graduate from the college every year and the degrees are recognized worldwide.

KMC has one of the finest learning environments in South Asia with infrastructure and faculty that support students to hone their skills to become outstanding medical professionals, true to its mission. KMC is recognized by the Medical Council of India and the General Medical Council of Great Britain, the Malaysian Medical Council and Australian Medical Council. KMC, Manipal celebrated Diamond Jubilee in the year 2013-14.

Kasturba Hospital is the largest hospital in India and the first Medical College Hospital in Karnataka to get the prestigious National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) on 14th September 2009.

It is ISO 9001: 2008 certified and ISO 14000: 2004 certified for QMS/EMS displaying a strong commitment to improving the quality of services.

In The Week - Nielsen Survey conducted in November 2016 Kasturba Hospital has been awarded the 4th Rank in Best Specialty Hospitals - South Zone.

It achieved the Guinness World Record for ‘The Most Participants in Hand Sanitizing Relay’ held on 15th October 2016.

It is the Winner of the Commendation Certificate for Performance Excellence from IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award 2014 - 2015.

 














KMC

MBBS COURSES

Candidates must have passed class 12 board exams or any other equivalent exams with English as one of the subjects. All general candidates seeking admission in Karnataka MBBS courses must have secured at least 50% marks in Physics, Biology and Chemistry.

MD/MS

The candidate must have studied from a University/Institute recognised by the Medical Council of India and it should be located in Karnataka, or the candidate should be a domicile of Karnataka (must have lived 10 years in Karnataka if his/her college is outside Karnataka.

M.SC

The minimum eligibility criteria for any course is 10+2 pass with a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent from a recognised university or board.

Super-Speciality

Minimum Qualification Required M.D. / M.S. / PG Medical Diploma

Minimum Score Required 40% - 50%

Fellowship

Applicants should: Be of Indian origin (by definition of the Government of India) or Indian citizens. Have at minimum, a university degree or five years equivalent work experience. Although not mandatory, a few years of work experience in a rigorous setting is highly recommended.
