B.F.Sc. or Bachelor of Fisheries Science is an undergraduate Fisheries Science course. It is the science that is involved in managing, catching, processing, marketing and conservation of Fish. The duration of Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences course is four years spread over several semesters which are mostly eight in numbers. The course can be pursued either as a Full-Time Graduate Course or a Part-Time Graduate Course i.e. through Correspondence or Distance Education depending upon one’s choice. The course is also known as B.Sc. (Fisheries). The course studies habits and breeding of various species of fish. It involves farming and husbandry of important fishes and aquatic organisms in fresh-water, brackish water and any marine environment. The course is very valuable and important for farm and fish communities and provides a lot of career scopes after its completion.
The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized Board shall be eligible for the course.
Degree in Zoology or degree in Botany /Chemistry with Zoology as a subsidiary subject/B.F.Sc./B.Sc. Aquaculture or any other equivalent degree recognized by MG University with 55% marks in the optional subjects.SC/ST candidates are allowed 5% relaxation in marks.
The minimum eligibility for pursuance of the course is graduation (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Fisheries Science) from a recognized university.
